Orell Füssli expects reduced earnings
Zurich, October 1, 2009. Suppliers’ technical development problems are delaying the availability of innovative security elements for the production of banknotes scheduled for the running year. Therefore the Orell Füssli Security Printing Division will face significant sales and profit shortfalls in the 2009 fiscal year. Orell Füssli assumes that these can be compensated by the majority in subsequent years.
Viewed overall, Orell Füssli continues to foresee weakness in the international capital goods market and ongoing restraint in book retailing in Switzerland in 2009. Despite lower sales in all divisions, Orell Füssli expects net profits in the region of some CHF 15 million in the 2009 financial year.
